Synopsis of music video

After looking at numerous indie rock music videos we have decided to make a performance based music video. We have decided that we should also include some from of cutaways, however not too many narrative based shots. The cut aways should be of the band and not of a random narrative. Towards the middle of the video have have decided to add a variation of split screens, this will pick up the pace which we decided to do after taking advice of Jack Wynne to 'leave something big and different till the end'. We got this split screen idea idea from the music video 'It gets cold' from 'Eliza and The Bear'.

We thought that the footage should be in black and white as this is frequently used in indie rock and is very stereotypical and helps to enforce the genre. The video will include a large amount of close ups of both the artists and their instruments. However gradually as the video progressed the shots will get wider and wider until eventually we have the full band shot. As we then introduce the split screens we will then re-introcue the close ups. Jakes advice was to start with establishing mid to long shots. However we decided to reverse this concept to add the 'indie' / alternative feel to the video, creating something that the audience might not initially expect. However this change isn't so dramatic or significant that it would stop the video being appealing to the target audience

They they will all be dressed in darker clothing, which is typical for the genre. They will be wearing wearing leather and skinny jeans, which is typical clothing. This will contrast the completely white backing making the artists stand out and maintain the focus of on the band.

The lighting will also be low key to help enhance the band and individual members. This will help to enforce the grungy feel of the video. However we will have spot lights on the individual artists to make them stand out. Due to us having the footage black and white, test shots will be essential for checking the lighting as we will only change the footage into black and white during the editing process. This will help us see where lighting is needed and not i.e.. artist too pale so they bland in with the back ground and also so they they are not too dark so we cannot see their faces.

We will have a full set up of cameras to enable us to gain a large variety of shots. The camera set up will include;
- 1 x track
- 1 x dolly
- 1 x figrig
- 1 x fixed
