Our chosen genre is Indie Rock because there are few iconic indie rock videos which have a memorable attachment in todays society. This means that when we go though the filming stages we wont feel as though we have to follow the video shot by shot. This also mean that we are be able to create more original ideas and shots. Further more this also means that when receiving feed back from others, they wont feel as though they have to compare it to the original video. Also we had noticed that in the global voting poll of music genres Alternative music (sub genre of Indie Rock) gained one of the highest votes with (add no.)
Indie Rock is also well known for its low budget shoots, derived from its Independent routes, which will benefit us as our budget will be limited. The influences of Indie Rock is derived from many sub cultures such as punk, psychedelia, post-punk and country, which enables us to be more creative and free with shots, mise en scene and costume, which is essentially the idea behind Indie Rock videos.
Indie Rock in comparison to mainstream tends top be more focused with an ethos of musical aspect, where as mainstream tends to revolve around sales of the music. In our case we are not trying to achieve sales, but because we have chose the Indie Rock genre, we intend
